Description

Albert Ellis first wrote about the importance of cognitions in marital problems over 50 years ago and applications of CBT to intimate relationship issues have been practiced ever since. In this workshop you will learn how to help couples examine unhelpful beliefs about themselves, their partners, their relationship and their ability to change.  You will learn interventions to help couples challenge perspectives and assumptions and to believe the best about their partner. We will also outline behaviour changes and relationship skills that will help create connections. We will learn problem solving, behaviour exchanges and communication skills through case studies and role play.

Instructor: Sarah Courtney, MDiv, RP
