Course Description

Hours: 12

This two-day interactive trauma-informed workshop explores the impact of helping work on the worker. This workshop is designed to provide an in-depth look at the interpersonal and systemic pressures of bearing witness to challenging and traumatic stories on you, the helper. Issues such as secondary traumatic stress, moral injury and empathy fatigue  will be explored. Skills, theories and practice will be shared in conversation throughout the two days.

Spend these two days looking after yourself.

Note: There is significant overlap between this workshop and Secondary Traumatic Stress, Compassion Fatigue and Resilience. It is not recommended that you take both workshops as the content will be quite similar.
