0501 - Counselling Women Through Menopause
Course Description
Hours: 12
Menopause, most commonly occurring between the ages of 45 and 55, represents a significant life transition for women, characterized by a range of physical, emotional and psychological changes. Counselling plays an important role in supporting women during this stage by offering tools to manage symptoms and promote overall well-being. Experiences such as hot flashes, mood fluctuations, anxiety and sleep disruptions can meaningfully affect daily functioning. A counselling space provides an opportunity for women to explore these changes, feel heard and validated and develop effective coping strategies.
This workshop is designed to provide clinicians with the knowledge and practical skills needed to support women navigating menopause. Facilitated by experienced professionals, it will explore the physiological, psychological and emotional dimensions of this transition. Participants will be introduced to evidence-based counselling approaches, strategies for symptom management and holistic methods of care. Through case studies, interactive role-play and guided discussion, clinicians will strengthen their capacity to respond with empathy and clinical competence. This training aims to enhance both client outcomes and practitioner confidence in addressing this important stage of life.
