Course Description

Hours: 12

This two-day advanced workshop is designed for practitioners who already have a foundation in solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) and are ready to refine and elevate their skills. Participants will deepen their understanding of core SFBT principles while exploring nuanced applications in complex clinical situations. Through live demonstrations, practice exercises and reflective discussions, attendees will strengthen their ability to facilitate meaningful, client-driven change with precision and confidence. Emphasis will be placed on advanced questioning techniques, micro-skills including micro-analysis, working with stuck cases and maintaining a collaborative, future-focused stance in diverse practice settings.

Participants will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy of SFBT and how to go deep while staying on the surface.
  • Understand how to engage in the co-construction process with clients and the art of ‘listen, select, build’.
  • Develop micro-skills such as micro-listening, micro-slicing of questions and the importance of using client’s language.
  • Sharpen their clinical precision when engaging in co-construction with clients.
  • Master fluidity and go beyond ‘technique’ with the five main interventions.
  • Learn how to stay solution-focused and avoid becoming solution-forced with complex or ‘stuck’ cases.
  • Learn when and how to integrate other approached with SFBT.
  • Participate in live practice, micro-analysis and feedback.
