Hawkins and Shohet (2012) describe clinical supervision as “a joint endeavour in which a practitioner with the help of a supervisor, attends to their clients, themselves as part of their client practitioner relationship and the wider systemic context, and by so doing improves the quality of their work, transforms their client relationships, continuously develops themselves, their practice and the wider profession” 1 (p. 5).
The Clinical Supervision certificate is designed for counsellors and psychotherapists looking to delve deeper into the theories and models of supervision to improve their practice, better understand the supervisor/supervisee relationship and build their cultural competence. The certificate will also explore ethics in supervision, use of self and challenges of supervision.
