Course Description

Hours: 12

Narrative therapy is a deeply respectful and highly collaborative therapy focused on the stories that live us, the oppressive forms of power that hold us captive within these stories, and our multiple, unending forms of resistance to this power. This two-day course will provide an overview of the key assumptions, concepts and practices of narrative therapy, with emphasis on how to use client stories to articulate the unique values, principles and preferences for living that are at the core of their resistance. Participants will leave this course with a strong grounding in the framework of narrative therapy, and with some key maps to guide their narrative practice.
