This course equips participants with essential skills to effectively manage crisis situations in various settings, including workplaces, educational institutions and community environments. Designed for administrators and professionals working with individuals, HR personnel, law enforcement, health administrations and educators, this course provides comprehensive training on recognizing, assessing, and de-escalating challenging behaviors and mental health crises.
Situations covered include panic attacks and heightened anxiety, low mood and suicidal ideation, intoxication, anger and hostility. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks, case studies and practical exercises, participants will learn strategies for recognizing the signs and symptoms of crisis situations, early intervention skills, fostering a supportive environment and facilitating positive outcomes.
Participants will develop effective communication skills, active listening, empathy and conflict resolution strategies tailored to diverse populations and challenging scenarios. Additionally, this course emphasizes the importance of self-care, debriefing and boundary-setting in maintaining personal well-being while supporting others in crisis.
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to confidently intervene in crisis situations, mitigate risks and promote positive outcomes for individuals experiencing mental health challenges or exhibiting challenging behaviors. Whether in a professional or personal capacity, participants of this course will be empowered to respond effectively to crises and contribute to creating safer, more supportive environments for all.
