Course Description
Perinatal Wellness: Navigating Prenatal and Postpartum Mental Health is designed for mental health professionals who want to enhance their understanding and expertise in supporting clients through the perinatal period. This course provides an in-depth exploration of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including postpartum depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD, PTSD and perinatal grief and loss. Participants will learn to accurately identify these disorders, understand their risk factors and presentations, and develop effective intervention strategies tailored to the unique needs of perinatal clients. The course emphasizes a holistic approach to care, addressing both the emotional and psychological challenges that can arise during pregnancy and postpartum. By the end of the course, professionals will be equipped with the foundational knowledge and tools needed to support the mental and emotional well-being of individuals during one of the most transformative periods of their lives. This course is ideal for therapists, counselors, and other healthcare providers who wish to expand their competency in perinatal mental health and provide compassionate, effective care to those navigating the complexities of the prenatal and postpartum stages.
