0561 - Integrating Somatic Therapy Approaches: From Concept to Embodied Practice
Course Description
Hours: 12
A comprehensive understanding of somatic therapy requires more than cognitive knowledge; it necessitates embodied awareness and an openness to both being and doing. This offering is designed for those who have attended Working with Trauma and the Body: Fundamentals of Somatic Therapy and wish to deepen their understanding of the somatic techniques introduced in that foundational session.
This two-day course emphasizes the connection between theory and practice and will support with translating concepts into embodied experience. It allows participants to engage in somatic practices that foster movement and awareness, expanding their understanding of somatic therapy and building confidence in applying foundational techniques. Through experiential activities, demonstrations and group discussions, participants will explore core somatic skills and learn to integrate them more effectively. This course will provide hands-on experience, strengthen your appreciation of somatic approaches and enhance your understanding of their application in therapeutic settings, while building confidence in integrating practices through direct embodiment. To fully benefit from this course, participants must be willing to engage in experiential activities that involve movement and embodied awareness.
