Course Description

Hours: 12

There is a high rate of marriages/partnerships that dissolve and/or end in divorce in Canada; many of these families include children. This workshop will deconstruct the transition from relationship breakdown, to post-relationship parenting and family restructuring models including co-parenting, parallel parenting, single parenting and blended/recoupling. We will focus on important considerations and common issues for parents and children/youth navigating the dissolution of the couple partnership as well as the post-relationship adjustment and well-being. The workshop will engage participants through the use of lecture, case studies, videos, as well as small and large group discussions.
