This Professional Development course will focus on three key learning components of different levels of structural dissociation within treatment for chronic traumatization. This includes working with clients having a primary, secondary (complex trauma, DESNOS, BPD without dissociative identity disorder (DID)) and tertiary (complex trauma with DID) structural dissociation. 

Focus on the course will be on:

1.    Advancing knowledge of the structural dissociation of the personality.
2.    Understanding chronic traumatization from Pierre Janet psychology of action systems and tendencies.
3.    Treatment of chronically traumatized clients, including: 
        a. assessment
        b. promoting adaptive actions
        c. general treatment principles
        d. phase one:
                i. overcoming the phobia of attachment and attachment loss
                ii. overcoming the phobia of trauma-derived mental actions
                iii. overcoming the phobia of dissociative parts
        e. phase two:
                i. overcoming the phobia of traumatic memory
        f. phase three:
                i.  Integration of personality and overcoming the phobias of normal life
