Course Description
This two-day module helps set a strong foundation for decolonial work. This workshop supports participants in learning how to facilitate decolonizing curriculum, decolonizing education, and decolonial practices. An excellent complement to any Centre for Indigegogy module, this workshop offers practical tools for sharing the decolonizing knowledge attained through engaging with decolonial and wholistic education.
Course Outline
This module will:

Demonstrate some of the ways mainstream institutions and systems perpetuate imperialism, colonialism, capitalism, and racism.

Discuss how to respond to systemic and structural activities of colonization through the facilitation of decolonizing knowledge.

Utilize circle methodology to demonstrate, in practice, decolonizing knowledge.
Learner Outcomes
Participants will:

Be introduced to the practices of teaching decolonial knowledge from a conscious and methodological approach.

Begin to recognize how imperialism, colonialism, capitalism, and racism underpin mainstream educational systems (and beyond).

Engage in circle methodology to envision decolonial practices.
