0490 - Part 1: Foundations of IFS Practice
Course Description
This eight week (40 hour) course will introduce you to the concept of our multiple selves, or "parts", and the way these parts tend to organize. You will learn how the IFS model explains the plurality of the mind and how to facilitate the release of these parts from their extreme roles. We'll also explore how to access self-leadership and the work of healing parts through unburdening.
Part 1: Foundations of IFS Practice includes:
- A 90 minute mandatory orientation where you will prepare for the course by:
- Meeting the support staff.
- Discussing the structure, flow and methods of the course.
- Discussing assignments and evaluation.
- Addressing psychological safety/bravery in our classroom.
- Asking questions to ensure you fully understand the requirements to successfully complete the course.
- 14 hours of online, self-directed learning.
- 25.5 hours of mandatory remote classes (through Zoom).
- Supervised practice groups (through Zoom).
- A final assignment with both professional and reflective practice exercises.
