Course Description

Hours: 12

"Almost no one enters into violence for the first time having caused it" (Sered, 2020).

Working with individuals who have caused gendered and sexual harm remains a sensitive topic across many practitioners and frontline workers – especially those of us that act from a place of solidarity with survivors. In reality, we are all knowingly and unknowingly supporting and working with individuals who have caused harm in different forms.

What would it look like to build up our ethical frameworks and practices to better support those who have caused harm in unpacking and healing the root cause of their actions, taking accountability, and transforming their behaviours? If we truly want to foster cultures of healing, respect, consent, accountability and repair we need more people in our communities leaning into the messiness of this important work. This workshop will help each participant explore the ethical frameworks and practical tools they will need when walking alongside folks who have caused harm in their healing and accountability journey.
